J.Bonkaz is an american platinum selling music producer, songwriter, engineer and musician. He is by far one of the music industry's most prolific underrated producers. His polished ear, unique drum patterns, chord progressions and deep melodies set him apart from many other producers. He was born in San Diego, CA, but raised in Jamaica, Queens, New York. He has gained a strong passion for music, at a very young age and has been playing piano since the age of five, then composing hard-hitting tracks since the age of thirteen.

In 2005, J.Bonkaz landed his first major placement with mulit-platinum recording artist 50 Cent, producing P.I.M.P. pt.2 aka (Pimpin' Pt.2). The song was placed on 50 Cent's Bulletproof video game & soundtrack, which sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide. Around the same time, he decided to relocate to Atlanta, GA to pursue his dreams of working in the music industry full time. Since then, he has been working on perfecting his craft and building his brand(s). Working with many independent and major artists, J.Bonkaz has produced, written and/or mixed on countless records. Some of the names he has done work for include Big Sean, Dave East, Cyhi The Prynce, Roscoe Dash, King Los, Chinx, French Montana, Red Cafe, Bobby V and more. He's also appeared on various mixtapes including some hosted by DJ Kay Slay, DJ Drama, and DJ Scream.

In 2010 J.Bonkaz co-founded Genius Klub, a music production company, which he is also an active member of. Under his leadership, the company has landed placements with many artists including Dave East, Chinx,  Olivia Longott, Lil Zane and has had music placed on T.V. (MTV Jamz, BET Jamz, VH1) and in movies including "The Man In 3B", which is currently streaming on Netflix and also is being aired on BET. As a producer, engineer, and song writer, he works closely with artists to develop their talents and produce the highest quality recordings. He has an innate ability to hear complex harmonies and help his clients fine-tune their vocals. A recording artist himself, J.Bonkaz understands the attentiveness required to elevate talents in others. 

 

In 2017 J.Bonkaz founded BORN GENIUS, a multi-genre independent record label, management, distributor and publishing company.

 

J.Bonkaz is self-motivated. His talents combined with his strong will and determination are exactly why he's next. The goal is set. Nothing will stop him from achieving it.
